How retail charges are calculated on the order

If enabled for a part, the Price Override settings determine the retail cost of a part when it is added to a Job.

If Price Override is not enabled, the retail charges for parts, as well as the retail charges for labor items, are calculated based on the Price Matrix settings (Markups and Profit Margins).

When a part is added to an order the retail price is calculated or updated based on the cost value and the Price Matrix values, unless the Price Override option is selected.

To determine the Retail Cost:
  1. On the Price Matrix window, locate the appropriate Part Source.

  2. Find the range for the cost.

  3. Find Markup % or Profit Margin %.

  4. If a Markup % is used - Multiple the markup % by the actual cost and add the result to the cost to get the retail charge.

  5. If a Profit Margin is used – divide the actual cost by 1 minus the profit margin % to get the retail charge.
